As you can tell from above I am a huge fan of Abraham Lincoln but there is more about me than my professed love to Lincoln’s life story.
I grew up in the little town of Melvin and attended G.C.M.S. High School graduating in 2002. While in high school I participated in sports such as football, basketball, and baseball. I joined the FFA eventually becoming Vice President and played the trombone in Jazz and Concert band.
After graduating I attended Parkland College and earned my Associates of Arts, History and achieved a 3.37 GPA. While attending Parkland I decided I wanted to become a teacher and immediately decided I wanted to attend Illinois State University. I graduated I.S.U. with a Bachelor of Science in History Education in 2007 with a 3.20 GPA.
While attending Illinois State I would meet and fall in love with my beautiful wife Jessi. We would marry in 2011 and bring into this world two little girls Elli and Addi and a little boy Otto.
I had been in the Paxton-Buckley-Loda district for ten years and now teach at El Paso-Gridley district. I have been teaching Social Studies for the last 12 years. I could not imagine a better district to work in because of the great community, students, and fellow teachers. I truly love teaching and feel spoiled that every day that I wake up I get to go teach a subject that I am absolutely passionate about. I hope that every day I can pass that passion and love for history to anyone who attends my classes at El Paso Gridley High School.
